OUR WHY
We know that:
·
High-quality
teaching, leadership, and support professionals are some of the most
significant factors tied to student achievement and success.
·
Professional
development is effective when it contains authentic and relevant curriculum
content, is intensive, ongoing, connected to practice, and focused on student
learning.
A
growing body of research and practice indicates that effective professional
development improves both the content knowledge of teachers in core academic
areas and the teaching practices of all educators. It also strengthens the
learning that supports principals in becoming outstanding educational leaders.
Member
surveys identified a need for personalized professional development/growth for
education support professionals, teachers, and specialists that supports
student achievement and guides students to become global citizens while
supporting their professional growth. Surveys also identified a need for
professional development tailored to the specific roles and responsibilities of
administrators and other educator leaders.
As we evolve as an organization, we will utilize
feedback from our membership and research the best practices used in accomplishing/to accomplish our education goals.
